Iconic Air Max designs combined with the Air Max 360, Nikes most innovative cushioning system to date
One Time Only-two worlds create something new
One Time Only was the proposal when Nike design duo Richard Clarke and Jesse Leyva presented their new project to Nike's CEO Mark Parker.
In fact, the newest project involving Nike Air cushioning technology is pretty unique. It is a convergence of the most recent development in Nike Air cushioning- the Air Max 360 shoe and the iconic predecessor Air Max models that have continuously expanded the possibilities of Nike Air Cushioning.
Every good design starts with a solid foundation: the Nike Air Max 360 sole
Clarke and Leyva decided to capitalize on the fortitude of Air Max 360 shoe technology to create a strong base for their hybrid design. As part of Nikes commitment to push innovation to new frontiers, the design team dissected a shoe that offers athletes the smoothest and most durable ride ever created, thanks to a Nike Air cushioning component that is visible from every angle. This shoe has no foam, no midsole just Nike Air.
The upper of the hybrids: iconic Air Max
The Air Max 90, Air Max 95 and the Air Max 97 are three of Nikes iconic Air Max running shoes to date. We use our past to create the future, says Nike Creative Designer of Sport Culture Richard Clarke. The three icons return in a slightly new form. Each shoe features the new Max 360 Air Sole unit. The latest icon, the Air Max 360 was given a special identity. The concept takes iconic designs and combines them with Nikes most innovative cushioning system to date says Clarke. This project is a great example of the utilization of iconic inspiration over new innovation.
The juxtaposition of two eras creates something new
With the sole of the 360 Air Max and the uppers of Nikes legendary Air Max, Clarke and Leyva created 4 series of legendary products:
The Originals
This is the only time you will see these models in their original color and materials featuring the Air Max 360 Air Sole unit.
The Air Max, the Air Max 95 and the Air Max 97 each dominated with their specific design and colorway. The leading color of the upper is used as the dominant color for the Air Max 360 sole. The Air Max 90 will come in red, Air Max 95 will come in green-yellow and the legendary Air Max 97 will come in grey-silver. ACG (All Condition Gear) was the inspiration for the color treatment of the Air Max 360. The earth tones and suede offer uniqueness from the previous colorways of the original used on the Air Max 360.
The Deluxe
The uppers of the legendary Air Max running shoes go through yet another metamorphosis. The upper stays the same, but the material and the colorways change. Nike history revisited, to its extreme, Jesse Leyva calls it. Each Air Max upper is constructed from premium chocolate brown leather. This buttery soft cowhide provides additional comfort with a premium look.
Clerk Pack Colors
AS PER FIRST PAGE PICS
Design innovation at Nike is about playing with your history and taking it further. The uppers of the legendary Air Max shoes became the canvas for something remarkable.
Throughout its history, Nike has worked with several collaborating design partners. One of these collaborations is the Clerk Packs in conjunction with select retail partners worldwide.
Leyva and Clarke selected 4 of their favorite clerk pack colorways and applied them to the One Time Only silhouettes. They also made use of the identical materials that were originally applied on the Clerk Pack models. The Foot Patrol Air Stab colorway decorates the Air Max 90.The Air Max 95 takes its bacon colored make-up from the Daves Quality Meats Air Max 90. The vibrant Air Max 97 uses the Union Stores Air Force 180 color picking. Each example makes use of the identical materials that were sourced for the original Clerk Pack models. The Air Max 360 sports a totally new make up; a multi-colored polka-dot treatment was fashioned to decorate the upper.
Limited Edition: Woven Air Footscape 360 (Not Available in South East Asia)
Nikes design team honed in on their inspiration and pushed it even further with the fusion of the recent Woven Air Footscape upper and the Air Max 360.
This series is a merge of two new technologies, the Woven Air Footscape and Nikes newest Air innovation-- Air Max 360.
The Woven Air Footscape is a blend of a sustainable Nike Considered product that uses no lining or glues on the upper, reducing the amount of materials needed for production.
For One time Only, the Woven Air Footscape no-lining upper is constructed in leather with nylon webbing for breathablity and flexibility while the lightweight Air Max 360 unit provides superior cushioning.
