Anyone Collect Sports Cards?

Can’t go wrong with either if you’re holding long term. Vintage will always rise, modern will have its dips but eventually do the same thing years down the road. Just be smart about modern and don’t buy certain things that are skyrocketing at the moment that you don’t think will sustain down the road

im not talking about a collect-a-con level venue. But i think a local card exchange show with my idea would work.
there are real collectors out there that are sick of the 80% trade in BS and I feel like something like this is something a lot of actual collectors would appreciate.

We have 3-4 card game stores in town that do trade nights and from what I’ve heard people are usually pretty fair. I don’t think they enforce any type of pricing or anything like that though

Yamal true rookie card in a PSA 8, or a "rookie" card in a 10? Extra question, scrap those and go for an auto card in a 9 or 10 depending on price?

I'd go with the 10, it's still a rookie card. I feel like with sports, the "first is first" doesn't apply as much as hobby stuf that's reliant on fictional IP.

That's what i was leaning towards. After 2 or 3 Balon d'ors I don't think people will differentiate too much between his rookie Panini card or his rookie Topps card.

So with how AH has been hard to find, yesterday I finally grabbed two mini tins at my nearby EB games in Canada and the lady gave me my my choice of which tins. The Chikorita mini tin was the saving grace, and it meant a lot to me because as a kid Chikorita was my starter for the gbc era. I saw the first card was a hit so I stopped and mid freaking out I handed my gf my phone and made her record me while I’m feeling so many emotions at once.
I bought a top loader binder just so I could organize the god pack in the order which they appeared. 5th pack out of 6 packs ever ripped, now I’m 100 percent only keeping sealed AH

congrats. i bought a dragonite for 70% on market value off a stream on saturday. sent it for grading
