Saw he wore some "Jordan Hallowed Ground" with the celts, but I don't think those are them.

Or are they? Almost look like 9s.

Look like 9.5 Team Jordans

Crazy, I'd never heard of these before. Nike and JB have produced so many shoes over the years it's wild. They'd do good to have a show on YouTube going over the history of all the basketball shoes they've made. I know it wouldn't be good for sales because I'm sure that would knock some of the allure off "I'm one of the few people that has this brick red Jordan 4!" though.

So were the 9.5s supposed to be like a bridge between the 9s & 10s?

Larry Ellison, Oracle co-founder and one of the world’s richest individuals, has emerged as a potential contender to own Seattle’s prospective NBA expansion team following the league’s vote to explore adding franchises in Seattle and Las Vegas. The NBA Board of Governors has approved moving forward with the expansion process, with franchise valuations projected at $7–10 billion and a possible start in the 2028–29 season. Seattle, which lost the SuperSonics in 2008, now stands at the center of a high-stakes bidding war among billionaires.

The wait remains to see if other groups “will get involved” in the pursuit of an NBA franchise in Seattle, but the only organization to express its intent so far is “ready for whatever the next steps call for,” according to Tim Booth of the SEATTLE TIMES. One Roof Sports & Entertainment CEO Tod Leiweke said, “We started this journey eight years ago intentful to bring the NBA back, and we are going to lean in.” Kraken majority owner Samantha Holloway earlier this week announced the formation of One Roof Sports & Entertainment as an umbrella company -- “a sign to the NBA” that One Roof “appears to have its affairs in order with space to add an NBA franchise.” Leiweke declined to get into specifics about any structure or parties expected to be involved in the bid. Holloway is “expected to lead the bid One Roof puts forward,” and NBA rules “require that the controlling owner of the franchise holds at least a minimum threshold” of a 15% share. Private equity can hold up to 20%, and anyone who wants to buy in must invest at least 1% of the purchase price. Leiweke said, “We will put together a bid that has it all.” To date there “hasn’t been publicly known competition in terms of a potential competing bid”

JB doesnt care about half the stuff they used to put out that's why alot of this stuff gets lost in history (shout out to the 3 percents)

I don't know much about him (only that he owns tennis tournaments as well as Oracle...) but how come no?

Don't forget the yacht racing.

Anyway, he's so undesirable as an owner that the board of governors has accepted lower bids rather than let him own a team. His name was tossed around for the Pelicans (then Hornets), Kings and Warriors. That's pretty telling.

Ultimately, Ellison as an owner in Seattle would be entirely unserious. It would be just another toy for him to show off to his rich friends. He wouldn't care about the product on the floor, the fans or the city. He has no ties. I know Ballmer doesn't have LA ties, but he at least gives a crap.

Like dmbrhs dmbrhs he wouldn't be into the team or care of it's success and no real ties here. He's also known for creating toxic work environments

Plus he's a known ******* in general. Has had harassment allegations thrown at him. I know alot of billionaires aren't necessarily great people but he just seems like the bottom of the barrel of them. Big Trump guy, pro mass surveillance via AI type guy. I'm cool off him.

I'm sure whoever does get the team won't be perfect either and be flawed so it is what it is

My favorite team outta the west as a kid…

That 92 - 96 run was so fun

Heart my basketball hurt when kemp went to Cleveland
Those post Kemp years were tough knowing how close they were and blew it in the playoffs the two years Houston won. The Sonics front office proceeded to sign/draft some terrible centers.

The Petro/Swift/Sene picks in consecutive drafts never gets talked about as the worst stretch of drafting in NBA history. It got comical to the point when the 2006 draft came around, all of us were, like, "they're not gonna do it again...are they?" And then they did. They took Sene at #10. A guy who they had to teach how to shoot, and had played five organized basketball games in his life. Teams were so desperate for bigs to stop Shaq they would overthink it and draft guys who had no business even being in the NBA.

Fun fact: a month after that draft, the Sonics were sold to Clay Bennett. It was a rough go.
