Currently in NYC for the first time in almost a decade. I did a quick search of the Big 3 jazz clubs (Blue Note, Vanguard, Birdland). I'm seeing the Joshua Redman Quartet at Blue Note Saturday night! I haven't seen him live since this came out. I'm mad I missed the Mingus Big Band tonight. I'm gonna catch the Vanguard big band on Monday. My dude Terell Stafford is in that band.

So, apparently, the night I saw Redman, it was his first time playing Blue Note since pre-Covid. He even said he'd only played NYC once, a few months ago for IAJE. Place was packed! I didn't buy his new album or bother with the meet and greet. I'm not about that. That was a Saturday night. Monday night, caught the Vanguard big band. I got the random VIP seat right next to the horns. So much fun. Chatted with Terrell Stafford after the show for a bit.
