With all the talk about "hype" and "beasting" here the last few years, one thing that is refreshing is the true popularity of a great designed shoe. All the Pennys IMO somehow fit in that category.
I mean, face it -- dude only had a couple great years, and a couple "good" years as a player. His shoes makes his brief flashes of brillance everlasting. Only the IIIs -- because of major defects with the plastic sides on the leather -- hit places like "A&N" and outlet-type spots. I remember getting them for 39.99...
I've argued for years that the Penny I-IV line only comes second to Jordans in b-ball sneakers, and we'll see the IIs and IIIs in due time...
