I’ve been running TopMixtapes since way back in 2014. If you remember the old mixtape era before everything got sanitized by Spotify, that’s where my head is at. I got tired of seeing dope projects from this sub get buried because of sample clearances or just corporate algorithms not giving a damn about the underground.
So I spent the last year basically re-coding the entire platform from scratch. I wanted a dedicated home for the raw stuff tapes that actually feel like tapes.
The iOS build is finally live and running smooth, but it needs more "hardware." I don't want a bunch of industry filler on the front page, I want real music from people actually in the trenches here.
I’m looking for a few projects to feature on the home screen this week. No charge or any of that, I just want to show that the system works and give some shine to the artists who are actually building.
If you got a tape that needs a home or you’re just sick of the "Big Three" apps burying your work, drop a link or hit me up. Also, if you’re a dev or just a nerd for UI, I’d love some honest feedback on how the new build feels.
