I thought instead of having random threads for every new new balance topic, we could just have one thread for everything NB. Hopefully there are enough membershere on NT interested in NB to keep this thread alive.

To start it off, what is everyone's thoughts on the new solebox GGB retro soon to release?

It's about time. There used to be an old thread that had some pages on it. I know there are a lot of NB fans on NT, we just don't have the sheernumbers of Jordan/Nike Retro, which I think is good in a lot of ways.

Are you talking about these?

They look pretty nice, but it seems like they will be hard to get.

Right now, I'm searching for a couple of 575's and 1400's that already dropped.

yeah thats them. except all the news that popped up on hypebeast is inaccurate and mostly made up. they said that the burgundy's will be more limited thanthe green's, when hikmet hasn't confirmed production runs on either. and also they are still in sample stage so hopefully some changes would comeabout, such as a deeper burgundy and perhaps the same sole as the BB or GGB. the new shape isn't great but its better than anything US or JP made.

i have a fair few things that i am trying to track down. it just sucks cuz NB collector's never seem to wanna let go of their stuff

also changing the tumbled leather to suede or nubuck and the coloured heel panel to suede would help improve the flow of the shoe.

although i would still prefer the og's

I've seen them at my local Foot Locker.

They're not bad, but I passed on them. I tried on those black/silver MT580's and the outsole design made it feel weird to take a step.

You got that right and there's probably a reason for it. There's lots of shoes I'm willing to let go of, and it's mostly because they'relow quality or they just aren't that comfortable for every day wear.

i have never been a fan of MT580's. its a chunky less streamlined version of the 575.

yeah deezy tell me about it. its almost impossible to find shoes such as the beinghunted 575. even gr stuff is hard to track down these days

US never gets much love when it comes to NB's. UK and the fan base there seem to get the best colorways and shoes.

We either get straight garbage or leftovers from Asia and Europe.

My two favorite shoe companies, Asics and NB, continually job their US fans.

It might be because of the huge market for JB/Nike and basketball shoes.

Although there are plenty of people willing to shell out for NB and Asics (count me in), it's not surprising considering what's popular and trendyhere.

I remember the prices for Jordans out in some spots in Japan, I'm talking about something like a Mars IV going for $300 US. SB's and Air Maxes weregoing at decent prices, but it seems like they don't get a lot of J's.

Next time I go overseas I'll hopefully have a nice surplus for NB's and other runners.

Thats because NB USA has a massively small fanbase compared to their NB UK counterpart. As said before, they can't compete in a market oversaturated with nike and jordan and kids blind to anything else but SB. Back in the day i heard you could call up the flimby factory and just order shoes directfrom them.

and to the dude saying bout kids hyping up NB after kanye wore them, not only is that style unavailable now in both colourways, it is also atrocious and wouldnot attract people to NB anyway. so i think we are safe.

i love the company...the 99_ line has to be some of the most comfortable shoes i've ever worn. I'd like to get into them more, but we rarely getanything special in the states

it depends what you are after? be more specific and i may be able to help you.

pumplance, royalefam re-upped them a while back. not sure if they have any left but it may be worth checking? also check napsize and rif.la

Shipping is also something to deal with for U.S. buyers.

Stores overseas carry a nice selection, but then we're stuck with international shipping costs. You can expect that with any purchase cost of a shoe,you're adding $30-40 for international shipping.

I'm mainly scavenging forums and ebay.

Finally got these in my size.. should'a ordered two pairs
.... and jamesyo good look'n on the Hell's but they only had heaven's. I really want RIF to drop the price on the Lime MT580's and they'remine.

those could be pretty hard to track down as far as retail websites go. best bet would have to be ebay, or perhaps try crooked tongues. definitelythe go to place for NB knowledge.

How do the 1600's feel? Are they from CT or am I thinking of a different colorway?

RIght now I'm deciding between Red Devil 670's and a pair of 575's. Prices are decent so I could get both, but I have too many shoes already.
